NEW SERVICE POST: dLife Holiday Helpline
Just in time for Thanksgiving and National Diabetes Month, leading diabetes resource dLife launched a new service called the dLife Holiday Helpline, designed to help the 21 million Americans with diabetes and their families, friends and hosts navigate holiday eating.
The service provides tips and frequently asked questions on how to make a diabetes-friendly Thanksgiving meal, as well as offering more than 8,000 recipes and 30 streaming step-by-step cooking videos. Perhaps most helpful for those preparing meals for people with diabetes, users can ask questions through an online forum to other members of the dLife community as well as a staff of certified dietitians and diabetes educators. The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Sticking with a healthy diet is always a major challenge both for people with diabetes and those who cook for them.
The American Diabetes Association makes it a point to discuss what can be done to rework your traditional holiday meal. “D-bloggers,” such as Amy Tenderich at Diabetes Mine, have also posted on the difficulty of dealing with the holidays with diabetes.
Do you think dLife’s Helpline will alleviate diabetics’ holiday concerns? Would you refer this service to someone you know who is cooking for a diabetic this holiday season?
